Rice Growing Expert

“When the younger generation is strong, the nation will be strong.” Our school is committed to promoting the all-round development of our students. We have specially designed the “Rice Growing Expert” Programme to provide students with a hands-on learning experience in rice cultivation.
By taking part in every stage of the growing process—from sowing seeds and nurturing seedlings to transplanting, caring for the crops and harvesting—students gain a comprehensive understanding of how rice is grown. Through this experience, they also come to appreciate the message of the traditional Chinese verse, “Who realizes the toil involved in producing each grain of rice on his plate?” This helps students understand that food does not come easily and encourages them to cherish food and avoid waste.

School-based Chinese Language Curriculum | Developing Language Proficiency and Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students
Our Chinese Language curriculum adopts a variety of learning strategies, including contextual learning, visual aids, games, speaking activities, reading and writing, to help students progressively develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
To provide comprehensive support for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students in learning Chinese, our school arranges teaching assistants to provide immediate in-class support and offers after-school Chinese classes, Chinese consolidation programmes and school-based Chinese enrichment activities. We also organise Parent-Child Cantonese Classes, Chinese cultural activities and festive celebrations, enabling NCS students to use authentic Chinese in their daily lives while strengthening their language proficiency and deepening their appreciation of Chinese culture.

English Language Curriculum | Native-speaking English Teachers × Cross-curricular Learning
Our school strives to create an English-rich environment. Native-speaking English teachers take part in classroom teaching and a wide range of English activities, providing students with more opportunities to use English while enhancing their communication skills and confidence.
The school actively promotes a school-based cross-curricular English programme that connects English with other learning areas such as Music and Visual Arts. Through stories, characters, creative activities, performances, voice acting and thematic activities, students are encouraged to use English in engaging and meaningful contexts. In addition, the English curriculum for junior primary students incorporates English drama co-taught by the Native-speaking English Teachers. Through role-playing and stage performances, students develop their English communication skills while building confidence and showcasing their talents.
Through English Days and a variety of school-wide English activities, English learning is extended beyond the classroom into everyday school life. During our afternoon “Joyful Learning” sessions, students also explore the cultures and traditions of different countries through English. These engaging learning experiences provide meaningful opportunities for students to use English while broadening their global perspectives and developing an appreciation of different cultures.

STEAM | Innovation × Inquiry × Artificial Intelligence
Our school actively promotes STEAM and digital education by integrating elements of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics into a wide range of learning activities. Through these experiences, students develop creativity, an inquisitive mind, computational thinking and problem-solving skills.
Through our school-based Computer Studies curriculum, coding, scientific inquiry, cross-curricular projects, and innovation and technology activities, students learn through hands-on experiences and engage in the processes of identifying problems, generating ideas, designing, testing and refining solutions. In response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the school is also progressively integrating AI and digital tools into learning and teaching, guiding students to use technology effectively for learning, creation and inquiry while developing the digital literacy needed for the future.

Life-wide Learning | Beyond the Classroom · Learning through Experience
We believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom and textbooks. Our school actively promotes life-wide learning through visits, field trips, experiential activities, competitions, project learning and a variety of off-campus learning experiences, enabling students to connect classroom learning with the real world.
The school also offers Multiple Intelligences lessons and a variety of enrichment activities, allowing students to explore knowledge and skills beyond the regular curriculum. Through first-hand experiences, students discover their interests and talents while developing communication, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving skills, thereby broadening their learning experiences and horizons.

Visual Arts | Creativity × Appreciation × Expression
Our school places great emphasis on students’ artistic development. Through diverse Visual Arts learning experiences, students develop their observation skills, imagination, creativity and aesthetic appreciation.
Students explore art through drawing, design, three-dimensional creations and a variety of media, learning to express their ideas and feelings through visual elements. Visual Arts also connects artistic creation with everyday life and cross-curricular learning, providing students with opportunities to showcase their creativity and talents. The school also organises student fashion shows, in which students experience the entire creative process, from conceptualisation and design to the presentation of their finished work. Through this process, they develop their creativity, express their individuality, and build confidence and a sense of achievement.

Diverse Sports Development | Rugby × Athletics × Fencing × Football
Our school actively promotes a vibrant sporting culture and provides students with diverse opportunities for sports participation and training, enabling them to develop their sporting talents according to their interests and potential.
In addition to regular Physical Education lessons, the school places particular emphasis on rugby, athletics, fencing and football. Through school team training, extracurricular activities and different competitions, students enhance their physical fitness, sporting skills and performance. Training and competitions also encourage students to challenge themselves and realise their potential while developing perseverance, self-discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship, as well as building confidence through sport.
