Established in September 1996, the School is the eighth government-subsidized primary school founded under the auspices of the Hong Kong Taoist Association. It was funded through a generous donation by the School Supervisor, Mr. Chan Kwok Chiu, BBS, JP, in memory of his mother, Madam Chan Lui Chung Tak, and was originally named "Hong Kong Taoist Association Chan Lui Chung Tak Memorial School."

In September 2007, to express sincere gratitude to The Yuen Yuen Institute for its substantial donation toward upgrading the school’s educational facilities, the School Management Committee successfully applied to the Education Bureau to rename the school "Hong Kong Taoist Association The Yuen Yuen Institute Chan Lui Chung Tak Memorial School."

In accordance with our motto “Grasp Principles, Cultivate Virtues”, we are dedicated to helping students develop moral integrity and academic excellence.
